Elissa Caterfino Mandel is a college counselor and essay advisor with more than 12 years of experience as a private counselor. Previously, she worked writing admissions copy at Northwestern University and Stevens Institute of Technology. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Literature and Creative Writing from Drew University. 
 
Elissa loves to write and help students discover their own voices in crafting college essays.  As a frequent blogger, she has had pieces published in The Forward, Matters Magazine, The Jewish News, and the New Jersey Metropolitan Diary section of The New York Times.  Raising four sons, who have completed college and some grad school,  has given her familiarity with many college campuses; there is a broad range of student types within her family.  
 

Amy Giles is a college counselor and essay advisor with more than 8 years of experience as a private counselor. Previously, she worked as a Vice President of Human Resources at Citibank for twelve years. Prior to that, Amy worked as a human resources management consultant for Sibson and Company. Amy has a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. 
 
What Amy brings to the practice is comprehensive knowledge of resume writing and interview skills, both of which are critical for students to be successful in the college process. In addition, she is a caring, compassionate voice of reason in helping students find college matches and prepare essays that represent them well. With two sons who have completed college, one in the Midwest and the other in New York State, Amy is well acquainted with the ins and outs of the college application process.
